As others have stated, panic attacks are seriously misunderstood, and that misunderstanding alone only heightens the pain and terror that the sufferer feels. So very glad you wrote this.

Good luck on the release of AMBER FROST! Will look forward to reading it!Lisette Brodeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00021324250266879948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518768533345573501.post-44196973037488308992010-11-15T17:03:37.093-08:002010-11-15T17:03:37.093-08:00Thank you for speaking out on a topic that is misu...Thank you for speaking out on a topic that is misunderstood and, even in the 21st century, is viewed as taboo by so many. I also had panic attacks from when I was a teenager - I could not eat in public! Then ten years ago I suffered from depression and felt that people viewed me as weak and pathetic because I couldn't manage on my own and had to seek help. This wasn't the case though as everyone was so supportive -professionals and friends. Please ask for help if you need it- there are many people out there who can support you to get your life back on track! Believe me, you are in the majority, not the minority.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518768533345573501.post-71954173449691742022010-11-15T12:33:36.246-08:002010-11-15T12:33:36.246-08:00I totally understand where you are coming from Suz...I totally understand where you are coming from Suzy and thank you for being brave! Like you I took meds in my early 20's and came off of them slowly but okay. I was off meds for nearly 3 years by the time we had E, but I was scared for afterwards too. And well, that all turned out well :) Lately I have seen a huge increase in anxiety with the health issues that I have been having (there is nothing like being worried that you will poop your pants in public to cause an anxiety attack, lol!). I haven't made the trip back to the meds, but have stared up CBT again and it's totally helping. I think that by being transparent about our struggles, those of us who live with anxiety can help to normalize what we go through and erase that "crazy" stigma.
